John Cox's Creature Workshop

Koala sculptures have become a specialty at John Cox’s Creature Workshop, whether realistic, caricatured, concept designs, or abstract, we do the lot!

The Gold Coast ‘Animals with Attitude Sculpture Trails’ 2013 & 2015 raised awareness of the plight of the Koala and raised valuable funds for the Currumbin Wildlife Hospital Foundation. JCCW designed, sculpted & manufactured 21 Koalas for the 2013 event and 30 for the 2015 event.  Julie & John helped to co-ordinate this fantastic public art project for which artists were commissioned to design cool Koalas.

We were called upon to create the 16 iconic ‘Borobi’ character sculptures for the 2018 Commonwealth Games held on the Gold Coast, Queensland.

In 2025 we started to manufacture a half-sized Koala for clients that want something cute that’s not too big and that they can theme to their particular business.
