For the movie ‘Aquaman’ John Cox’s Creature Workshop 5 axis CNC machined a range of items for different departments. From digital scans we cut foam versions of the six lead actors bodies and heads for Wardrobe, Costume and Physical FX (Stunts) departments. We CNC routed 5 of the Ancient God statues, practical versions of the Seahorse bellies and saddles, and the Dead King’s giant Throne. John Cox’s Creature Workshop also cut foam versions of the Fish Queen, the Fish Warriors and numerous other characters.

The process begins when a client sends us an existing authorised digital 3D file of their character which we then scale to the required physical size. The digital model is split into numerous parts for machining on our 5 axis CNC router and the individual parts are machined out of XPS or EPS foam. Read More‘Animals with Attitude Sculpture Trails’ The Gold Coast ‘Animals with Attitude Sculpture Trails’ 2013 & 2015 raised awareness of the plight of the Koala and raised valuable funds for the Currumbin Wildlife Hospital Foundation. JCCW designed, sculpted & manufactured 21 Koalas for the 2013 event and 30 for the 2015 event.
