YouPose: Dynamic Anatomical Figures for Sculptors and Body Artists Sculpting, moulding, casting and finishing, there’s no quick way to do it all but there are processes now available to help you increase your output or help to meet a tight deadline. Combining digital sculpting software and the manufacturing capability of a 5 axis router now allows sculptors an almost endless variety of base figure options to begin their sculpture. The sculpture of a breaching whale incorporates a high tech lighting display and is covered in relief images of people, birds, and a variety of sea creatures for viewers to find. Read MoreThe install is complete and the event is fantastic! John’s piece ‘See Life’ is a star attraction at Swell Sculpture Festival 2015. The work stands 2.2 meters high and has 510 individual LED lights programmed to produce a story of environmental care and wonder. It is one of 55 works by local, national and international artists on display at Currumbin Beach until 20 September. ‘See Life’ lights up from 5pm – 7am each night so is entertaining visitors 24 hours a day. John has been a fan of American illustrators JC Leyendecker, N.C Wyeth, Howard Pyle, Maxfield Parish, and Norman Rockwell for forever. We had visited the Norman Rockwell Museum in Connecticut 14 years ago so the opportunity to see the largest collection of work by the artists who inspired him was very exciting. Visiting in the off season meant we needed to book a private tour and it was worth every penny as we received a personal tour from the museums founder and director Laurence Cutler. Read MoreSangeeta Sandrasegar, to be carried away by the current, to be dissolved in the Other, 2014, fibreglass JCCW was commissioned by the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia, to manufacture this work for Melbourne Artist, Sangeeta Sandrasegar. It was installed November 2014 on the Roof Garden, Level 4 of the MCA, The Rocks, Sydney. We collaborated with Sangeeta throughout the fabrication of her concept. The work stands 2.7m in height, is made of fibreglass and steel, and enjoys one of the best views in the world.
